About the Role
Cardfields Outdoor Centre is looking for a passionate and experienced Cook to join its permanent catering team. Based in the beautiful Essex countryside, the centre welcomes schools, community groups, and private guests, providing freshly prepared, high-quality meals in a busy and rewarding environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking with fresh ingredients, including produce grown on-site, and takes pride in delivering nutritious, delicious meals.
Please note: This position is based in Essex, not London.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals to a consistently high standard.
- Use seasonal produce, including ingredients grown in the centre’s gardens.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety standards.
- Work efficiently during busy meal services.
- Monitor food budgets and ensure effective portion control.
- Support the kitchen team in delivering an outstanding dining experience.
- Be flexible to work weekends when required.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen.
- A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive, reliable, and flexible attitude.
- Experience managing food costs and portion control.
- The ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
