About the Role
A friendly 100-bedroom hotel in central London is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Chef / Chef’s Assistant to join its kitchen team.
The successful candidate will primarily work as a Chef or Chef’s Assistant, with occasional Kitchen Porter duties when required. The role is generally daytime, although some evening work may occasionally be necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food to a high standard.
- Support the kitchen team with daily food preparation and service.
- Work independently when required while maintaining quality and hygiene standards.
- Assist with general kitchen operations and keep the kitchen organised.
- Carry out occasional Kitchen Porter duties when needed.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety.
- Work cooperatively with other members of the hotel kitchen team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a busy kitchen — essential.
- Good food preparation and cooking skills.
- The ability to work independently and efficiently.
- A genuine interest in cooking and maintaining high food-quality standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic attitude.
- A flexible approach to supporting different areas of the kitchen.
- Proof of the right to work in the UK.
