We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Leader to oversee daily warehouse operations, lead a high-performing team, and ensure the smooth and efficient running of our site in Barking.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who combines strong operational knowledge with the ability to motivate, support, and develop a successful warehouse team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop your warehouse team to achieve high levels of performance, engagement, and productivity.
- Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and site security procedures, addressing and escalating issues where necessary.
- Monitor operational performance against productivity, quality, and budget targets, providing accurate reports to management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and actively contribute to operational excellence (OPEX) programmes.
- Promote clear communication across the team, resolve workplace issues professionally, and support a positive working environment.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure warehouse systems and procedures are consistently followed to deliver outstanding customer service.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience leading a team within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, compliance, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high operational standards.
- Experience working within a bonded or food-grade warehouse is desirable but not essential.
