About the Role
Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is looking for a motivated Sales Assistant to join its team in Hemel Hempstead. This customer-focused role combines trade counter sales, customer service, and warehouse support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied working environment and delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers at the trade counter, offering expert product recommendations.
- Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email in a professional and timely manner.
- Build strong customer relationships by proactively contacting existing and inactive customers to encourage sales.
- Support warehouse operations by picking, packing, receiving, and storing stock.
- Handle manual lifting of products such as boilers, radiators, sinks, and other plumbing supplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized branch.
Requirements
- Previous face-to-face customer service or sales experience is essential.
- Experience within the plumbing, building supplies, or trade industry is an advantage.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday shifts from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
